Host monster is one of the biggest, most notable web hosts there is. Here is my unbiased review:

If you are looking for cheap, shared hosting, host monster is as good as it gets, period!

Price: Host Monster is about as competitive as anyone when it comes to price. Their shared plan will run you anywhere between 4-8 dollars a month depending on how long you sign up for, when you sign up, and if you used any coupon or discount codes to sign up. Regardless, Host Monster will end up being very cost effective if you are looking for a shared hosting plan, which is their most popular plan.

Domain names: Host Monster hosts a ton of domain names, almost 1 million! I would still prefer to go with a site that specializes in domain names only, like Namecheap or Moniker, but that is just my personal preference. You can’t go wrong by buying a domain or two at Host Monster.

Special features:

• You will be able to host unlimited domains on your account. Not just 1, 5, or 10 domains, as many as you’d like. You might go into this thinking that you will only ever need to host one or two domains, but trust me, after a while you will get hooked. Before you know it you will find yourself owning 50+ domains, trust me, just give it 6-12 months. Anyways, this is a great feature and is a must!
• Fantastico. If you are like most people these days, you run your site on wordpress. Thankfully Fantastico allows you to almost immediately get a new wordpress installation up and running. It will not take you anymore than 2 minutes from the time that you buy the domain to the time that you have wordpress up and running on it.
• Host Monster has a full and active message board for all of its customers. You will be able to interact with other Host Monster customers and get real, genuine advice and information. This is also great for networking and simply meeting new people who have similar interests.
• Host Monster has excellent support. Once you file a ticket [You do this on the website, relatively easy process] you will get real help from an actual person who will review your situation and reply within the hour!
• Host Monster offers a 30 day money back, risk free trial, you have nothing to lose!

Negatives: Not many to list. If you own websites that get serious traffic [Over 1000 visits a day] it is probably in your best interest to skip out on shared hosting altogether and invest in a dedicated hosting plan, however 99% of us do not have to worry about this. Host Monster’s support comes from overseas, so if you ever get on the phone with them, you may have trouble getting your point across and understood, but this is the way it is at most web hosts these days.

This is my honest review, you will get much more than 5-7 dollars a month out of having your websites hosted on Host Monster, it is tough to go wrong by investing in a shared hosting plan.
